A pan-European organization headquartered in France, Looping owns and operates 18 local and regional leisure parks, including theme parks, waterparks, wildlife parks and aquariums, attracting over six million visitors a year. The Group generates revenues of c.€200 million across eight European countries, including France, the UK, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Croatia, Germany and Portugal.

Looping is led by an experienced management team, headed by co-founders Laurent Bruloy and Stéphane Da Cunha, who retained a significant shareholding in the business. Looping employs a total of c. 1,600 people (of which c.50% are permanent) across 18 sites in Europe, including themes parks (9 parks), waterparks (6 parks), wildlife (3 parks) and aquariums (2 sites).
The Group is led by a very committed management team overseeing central functions and transversal experts, and empowered park-level management teams, in a decentralized model, across eight European countries.

MISSIONS
The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the group sustainability ambition and roadmap.
  • Executing the group sustainability strategy and programme through collaboration with senior leadership and departmental managers.
  • Drafting and implementing suitable organisational policies and procedures relating to sustainability.
  • Leading and driving the implementation of the CSRD directive within Looping, creating reporting structures and liaising closely with different departments such as finance and compliance.
  • Take charge of the Carbon Accounting project internally and drive the carbon footprint assessment programme.
  • Leading the Sustainability Committee: drafting and preparing reports, presentations and proposals for the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors and other key internal stakeholders and attending senior leadership meetings.
  • Reporting and communicating on sustainability performance for external stakeholders when required.
  • Maintaining working knowledge of, and ensuring compliance with, all applicable sustainability related laws and regulations.
  • Defining, owning, and driving all projects under the sustainability programme including the launch of a Looping Foundation.
  • Achieving and maintaining appropriate sustainability certifications (on-going reflections on B-Corp certification for instance).
  • Acting as the central resource and river guide for all sustainability matters.

Team and reporting line:

  • The Sustainability Director will report to the CFO of Looping. The Sustainability Director will work closely with the CEO & Co-Founder, MD & Co-Founder, CFO, COO and other peers in the Group.
  • The Sustainability Director will benefit from support by central functions (legal, compliance, HR and controlling) and by local entry points at park level for all Sustainability related topics.

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

  • 7+ relevant years of experience, with at least 1 to 2 years of experience leading a Sustainability function.
  • Previous experience from an industry that is more mature in ESG would be beneficial. Experience within F&B, leisure parks or Looping’s adjacent industries would be preferred, but not a prerequisite for the role.
  • Fluent French. Working knowledge of English is a must and another language would be a plus.

  • Experience in executing on a forward-looking sustainability strategy.
  • Experience working to implement CSRD directives, familiarity with gap analysis, and carbon footprint assessments.
  • Experience in integrating local sustainability activities into a global sustainability agenda.
  • Strong ability to develop sustainability processes and policies and enable sustainability transformation.
  • Familiar with working across multiple countries and regional levels.
  • Ability to act as an advisor to senior leaders on the full spectrum of sustainability issues.
