MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Fund strategy, launch and deployment:
- Support fund managers in the strategic thinking of PE funds with a sustainable theme or impact angle (e.g. Decarbonization & Biodiversity, etc.)
- Contribute to reinforce the impact investing (considering intentionality, additionality, impact measurement) and ESG strategy of the funds
- Work hand-in-hand with investment and legal teams to define SFDR classification and respond to regulatory demands on sustainability areas
- In partnership with the legal, marketing and sales teams, contribute to the development of the legal and marketing documents relating to new funds
- In partnership with client service and marketing teams, contribute to address LP requests (e.g. ESG/impact DDQ, participate to LP calls, provide reporting)
Support investment teams, engage with portfolio companies and report on progress:
- Raise awareness and train teams on relevant ESG/Climate & Biodiversity/Impact topics (with the support of the Group ESG & Climate team)
- Co-develop ESG/impact cases with investment teams and empower engagement with company management teams/sustainability experts
- Review proposals and deliverables of ESG/Climate & Biodiversity/Impact Due Diligence for new investments
- Deploy active engagement with the priority portfolio companies for the definition of impact / ESG / Decarbonization roadmaps
- Contribute implement the decarbonization targets at PE level (namely NZAM/SBTi)
- Enhance ESG tools to improve the investments teams’ fundamental analysis
- Oversee and coordinate annual ESG and impact reports including regulatory topics, provide a critical review of the ESG and Climate data to ensure the quality of the disclosure:
- Coordinate ESG data collection
- Coordinate Carbon footprint exercise for portfolio companies
- Coordinate the production of the Fund reports
- Ensure the quality of the ESG & Climate data and of the disclosure
- Coordinate the ESG & impact audits for the reports
- Ensure the deployment of the ESG strategy across the BU (aerospace, cybersecurity, decarbonization, impact growth, regenerative agriculture)
Group level
- Support group priority projects e.g. the development of the ESG assessment tool
- Complete ad hoc projects to support our growing ESG/ Climate & Biodiversity and Impact projects e.g. UN PRI reporting, sustainability report
Industry tracking and Group representation
- Track and follow trends and breakthroughs in the finance industry; construct timely briefs and reports for internal and external communications
Client and other stakeholders’ engagement
- Support the investment teams and sales staff in client interactions
- Develop/expand and maintain effective relationships with external partners and key allies, such as peer non-profits, thinktanks, and ESG / Impact / Climate Finance leaders
QUALIFICATION SKILLS EXPERIENCE
- Starting from 7 years of experience incl. a minimum of 3 years in a role focused on Sustainability, ESG or CSR or environmental related topics at a financial company or a consulting firm
- Fluency in English and French; any other language will be an advantage (Italian, German, Spanish)
- Hard skills :
- Strong analytical orientation (scientific background a plus)
- Ideally previous experience and/or proven ability to work closely with medium sized and/or large companies and translate ESG best practice to actionable items (methodologies & processes)
- Soft skills
- Self-driven and autonomous, with a skill for digging deep into problems; sense of urgency and result oriented
- Excellent communication and team-working skills
- Ability to work well in an international and multicultural environment and team player
