To support Sodexo’s global strategy as a sustainable food service and valued experiences company, specifically supporting our climate ambition, the Climate Impacts Manager provides the technical expertise with regards to Sodexo’s climate impacts and the rising expectations of stakeholders.

  • The Climate Impacts Manager will bring to Sodexo a strong expertise in climate impacts, understanding of converting impacts into reduction actions and knowledge of emissions calculation & methodology
  • The Climate Impacts Manager will ensure Sodexo’s global SBTi verified Net Zero 2040 commitment continues to be impact driven and maintains integrity of the science based target.
  • The Climate Impacts Manager will ensure Sodexo remains alert to the evolving space of climate action.


Expertise: The Climate Impacts Manager develops the climate expertise center and its expertise. They ensure it can answer technical requests from main stakeholders and that Sodexo is recognized as a leader in the market on the fight against climate change, both internally and externally.

  • Ensure Sodexo considers, and implements as necessary, new standards, methodologies and impacts as they emerge in the evolving space of climate science, technology advancement, and carbon footprint reduction.
  • Ensure training and development of climate experts, including the group, regional and other climate experts.
  • Ensure climate-related information is provided to external entities as related to Sodexo overall reporting requirements/strategies, including ensuring leadership in the sector on CDP.
  • Cultivate and manage external collaborations with NGOs and expert consultancies around climate change.
  • Participate in external conferences and working group in order to create and demonstrate Sodexo expertise within the industry on climate change and ensure leading position on this topic.

Strategy: They ensure that Sodexo climate-related strategy is aligned with what the transition needs and is evolving with the industry and the external requirements such as local and regional regulations or international coalitions.

  • Contribute to the cultural change strategy necessary for embedding corporate responsibility, and in particular, climate emergency awareness, throughout Sodexo.
  • Support regions and countries in defining their roadmaps to achieve group commitments on climate, through the use of the Carbon Trajectory Tool and other trainings and events.

Support to operations: They support the implementation of Sodexo’s long-term climate strategy (Net-Zero by 2040) by embedding it into each function and region’s strategy. They manage the development and implementation of systems and tools to support country execution plans to support carbon reduction commitments and to meet client expectations. Support the deployment of key initiatives per region, country and site to align the activity with the climate transition.

  • Support each internal stakeholder group in defining, setting, and deploying projects to reduce the climate impacts of Sodexo, from group to site level.
  • Elaborate key messages and communication plans with communication teams to raise both internal and external awareness on the climate emergency and Sodexo’s positive impacts.
  • Support and train key account teams to develop a climate strategy for the services provide to their clients.


  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Sustainability, Climate science, Environmental science or similar.
  • 5 + years of relevant professional experience, with success in the areas of climate & business strategy, reporting.
  • Experience in food value chain and/or facilities management highly desirable.
  • Fluent in English. French skills are a plus.


  • Ability to work collaboratively with global and diverse teams.
  • Ability to train non-technical stakeholders to apply climate actions to operational environments.


  • Expertise in GHG emissions scopes and detailed understanding of GHG accounting and reporting principles, including the GHG Protocol, SBTi guidelines, regulatory framework in three key areas (France, UK, USA) and other international standards.
  • Strong ability to analyse complex quantitative and qualitative data and translate into actionable information.
  • Ability to construct possible solutions for consideration in a multicultural and multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Effective project management and problem-solving skills.


  • Position to be based in near Paris (France) or London (UK) – hybrid work could be considered.
  • Some travel will be expected, especially if not based in Paris.
